The House of Representatives is reconvening for a second day of voting on Wednesday after adjourning without electing a speaker of the House on Tuesday, the first time in 100 years it’s taken more than one ballot to vote in a new speaker. Republican Leader Kevin McCarthy received fewer votes in all three rounds than Democratic Leader Hakeem Jeffries, with McCarthy losing 20 Republicans in the third round, but neither received a majority of votes.
