Kathy Bates’ Emmy nomination makes history at 77 years old

Kathy Bates, the star of CBS’s “Matlock,” is making Emmys history as the oldest actress to be nominated for the category of “Lead Actress in a Drama Series” at the age of 77. The most-nominated shows this year are “Severance” with 27 nods, “The Penguin” with 24 and both “The Studio” and “The White Lotus” with 23 each.
