Analysis of a Russian missile that struck Ukraine shows that critical US-designed chips found their way into this weapons system. This, despite export controls imposed on Russia meant to prevent its military from getting its hands on western technology. The findings highlight the challenges in policing global supply chains that allow for rogue actors to circumvent these restrictions.
