The FDA is holding a briefing Friday after releasing a proposal that would ease blood donation rules for gay and bisexual men. Under the new proposal, potential donors will be screened with a questionnaire that evaluates their risks for HIV based on sexual behavior, recent partners and other factors. The current guidelines require gay and bisexual men to abstain from sex for three months before donating.
