‘No Basis’ to Revoke License Over Kimmel, FCC Commissioner Gomez Says

Anna Gomez, the lone Democrat on the US Federal Communications Commission, says ABC put the first amendment in danger after pulling Jimmy Kimmel’s show off the air. She says there is no legal basis for the agency to revoke ABC’s license. Gomez tells “Bloomberg Tech” that “corporate capitulation” to the Trump administration will hurt democracy. Kimmel’s show was suspended indefinitely after he made controversial remarks about the assassination of Republican activist Charlie Kirk.
