The House voted to adjourn until 10 p.m. ET on Friday after lawmakers failed to elect a speaker. GOP Rep. Kevin McCarthy on Friday managed to switch several votes in his favor but still didn’t have a majority to become House speaker in the 12th and 13th ballot.
