Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas provided details about new U.S. border enforcement measures following President Biden’s announcement to expand Title 42 on Thursday. Mayorkas said the new measures are aimed to “improve border security, limit irregular migration and create additional safe and orderly processes for people fleeing humanitarian crises to lawfully come to the United States.”
