Biden announces tentative deal to avert rail strike

President Biden hailed a “tentative agreement” reached early Thursday between rail companies and labor unions that he said would mean workers will “get better pay, improved working conditions, and peace of mind around their health care costs.” If they had failed to reach an agreement, a work stoppage would have disrupted freight and passenger services.
